Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. It was impossible to take enough pleasure from it. After graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell took a full year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. When she was in Italy she gained an appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine. It had a significant influence on her perception of food. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador who promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne has, through her whole culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to be in a position to share her passion for life with others.
