Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She is currently a fighter within the UFC Flyweight division. She is the elder sister of the fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started in the form of an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, with a silver-medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008, a gold medal in the year 2011 and the title of 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003, and she was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko set the professional MMA record in 2002 at KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She was victorious in the second round by TKO and then won the next 2 fights in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003. She compiled an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a hiatus to focus on boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa through a unanimous decision, before prevailing over Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko wrestled Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina used superior striking in order to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the clinch. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign an UFC contract. Antonina was offered an UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modeafferi with a unanimous decision. But, she fell in her second fight due to a split verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss and fought Lucie Prudilova in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler who was able to win the fight by rear naked choke submission. This was by far the most exciting fight of night for that bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently knocked out by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
